Notification on Language sub-forum to be selectable

Right hand side above your thread you will find a little icon to manage your subscriptions.

On that path click on "forum", right hand side shows you an icon that looks like an eye; mouse over says "forums on/off", a new pop up opens; remove the check marks on the sub sections that you don't want to see

Is there also a way to disable updates from specific threads?

E.g. I dont want to see all the "Siege War thank you" posts or "show of your mage/knight/whatever" posts being updated in my "unread posts".

Unfortunately, no.

You could mark them as read, though, by doubleklicking on the icon on the left.
