  • I'd like to suggest we use this thread as poll or petition for players to promise to spend $100 USD or more on diamonds if they give us back the 200% weekly diamond sales.

I know normally forums threads are meant to discuss things but I would like to ask the moderators and players to make an exception in this case.

I would like to ask everyone to only reply with yes or I agree.

If people want to discuss the idea for any reason then I beg them to make their own thread.

I also ask that people only reply once so those in charge can easily see the number of people would buy diamonds.

I imagine some people will think my request is unfair and feel obligated to comment something negative.

If that happens I hope the mods can help remove those comments if it's not too much trouble.

I can even make another thread to discuss it if that's allowed or if there's a way to make this a poll on the forum that might be another solution.

Anyways, I guess it's mostly up to the moderators. But if they won't then maybe a lot of support will drown out any trolls.

Doesn't hurt to try. Nothing to lose.

  • Thats not how a forum works.

If we want to discuss it we discuss it here. Its not really liked by the mod team to have miltiple threads on the same topics. You know. Stuff gets messy.

They wont bring back the 100% or higher sales.

A few years back they changed their pricing system and completly reworked the shop.

They increased the base payout of diamonds by i think nearly 50% and lowered the prices of items by i think 20% or so. ( dont quote menon that, that was ages ago)

Therefore with the changed pricing the net payout with 30 or 35% promotions pretty much stayed the same or got a little bit higher than it was with 140% sales.

It also was to be a move to increase the sale of diamonds without promotions. There are no official numbers on that but i think that worked. So i strongly suppose that a promotion that high wont happen since it would hurt their sales without promotions.

You can try to poll it, and noone really will have a valid point against it, bit it will be a fight against windmills. Looks fun. Doesnt work.

  • It's not unlike the attempt to control in-game diamond prices by making them tradable on the AH. Instead of the price dropping down away from 125k they doubled to 250k.

  • And we have to understand that GF has expenses. It's like car insurance. The companies aren't there to protect you. They are there to make a profit. There are still a few folks who put in the work to play for free. They do have to have patience and do it slower than you might like, but it is still an option.

  • I know how forums works that's why I asked for exception.

I'm just trying to provide them with a free survey basically. I think they're losing profit by setting prices too high and I don't spend much because I get so little in return. It's a lose lose situation. I'm trying to make it a win win situation.

But either forum activity is low or my $100 price is too high. I don't know. Maybe people could reply with $50 or whatever they would spend if they had 200% sale.

Would be nice if they could make a poll. But a forum exception might be next best thing. Just have to delete the regular negative commenters. Not like there's hundreds of them. There's only a couple I think.

  • Lots of people would spend way more than they usually would in a month, but then they would not have to buy more at the normal prices or even at 45% sale for a very long time. Barak Obama created a program called "Cash for Clunkers". The government gave a $2000 trade in value for 2 months in July and August on specific gas hog model used cars. People who had cash and were planning to buy a new car in the next few months anyway bought up all the $500 cars and traded in early. Then from September until December, car sales hit near-record low volumes. It didn't help the car makers long term. Meanwhile all the lower class and lower-middle class income people could no longer afford to replace their broken down hooptiemobiles because there were no cars in the $300 to $1000 range. Used cars were starting at around $3000. The Wealthy upper class and upper-middle class folks who didn't need the $2k credit were the ones who could afford to take advantage, while the poor folks that Barry said he was trying to help got the shaft (as always). 200% sales offer no benefit to Gameforge.

  • their pricing model does not support 200% sales.

As i said. They changed the base payout and the IS prices to make a diamond purchase without promotion a better value.

And they changed the promotions to lower values to still have the same defacto payout as before.

The only thing where those benefits dont really come into play are the new universal stones.

Those are just more expensive than the old ones. While they work way better overall, its still an expensive gamble once you want to go above 23 or something like that.

But thats a topic in itself. The plussing overall is just plain bad......
