15th Anniversary Events

Wow, where do I even begin to explain how much Runes of Magic has been a part of my life. I started this game years ago, after trying numerous other games that just didn't fill that empty void I wanted filled when looking for a game to play online. I've played many games similar to Runes of Magic. EverQuest, WoW, Guild Wars, Rift, Diablo, and more. But again, none of them even compare to Runes of Magic. I have made many friendships on this game, too many to count. Wonderful friends that some still play today, some just actually returned from years ago, and some who no longer play, but I still keep in contact with. (Believe me I am working on getting these ones back to playing! haha). One friendship in particular that starts years ago, blossomed into a beautiful love story. I met the most beautiful soul ever on Runes of Magic, on the Artemis server, by the character name of Lordgrackus. We because best friends, ran together, spent many nights farming cards, materials, stats, anything that peaked our interests. We joined a guild together, ran instances, helped each other out, and guildies out too. We fell in love during this, and our love continued to grow for a year or so and he moved from New York to where I lived in Arizona. We finally got to play our favorite game, the game we fell in love on, together side by side. We had two beautiful children together during our Runes of Magic time, and our children are now 7 years old and 5 years old. I hope Runes of Magic will continue to be a part of our lives, so that our children can play with us! If it wasn't for Runes of Magic and the years they have allowed us all to play, I wouldn't have met the love of my life. I wouldn't have met the friends I have met and love dearly. Thank you so much to all of you at Runes of Magic for creating such a wonderful game. I have left Runes of Magic a few times, but it always draws me back in. I left for a few years back in 2019/2020, but returned last year actually, during Runes of Magic's birthday anniversary. I am so glad to be back and celebrating this 15 year anniversary with the players on the US server. Runes of Magic will ALWAYS have a place in my heart, no matter what. Thank you Runes of Magic

Runes of Magic Memories 15 years of shenanigans roughly summed up in a 'little' compellation!

An unexpected friendship One year, after a short break from the game, I decided to return. My main character at that time was on Server Siochain but since I was returning my gear was kinda outdated and prices on Auction house were a bit to high for me as a casual gamer. So i hopped to Isiltir and decided to give it a try there. After a few lonely weeks in somewhat low leveled zones I stumboled upon an elven druid doing same questline as I was. His name was Symmol and we decided to join forced and do the questline together. It was some part of Envoy of the dragon quest serie. After few hours of questing we decided to call it a day and maybe get back to it, together, tomorrow. He was already in a guild so he asked a leader if I could join and thats how I got in my first guild on Isiltir. And this is how our friendship started. Next few days we mostly did quest together and if one wasnt online the other one would quest alone and the one who was behind would latrer try to catch up to him within a day or two. It wasnt so hard to keep the levels similar since we were playing mostly around same amount of hours per day. After a month or two we managed to hit level cap and it was time to join the guild in Siege war. Guild used Team speak at that time so I downloaded it and that was the first time I heard him and everyone else so I could finally put a voice to the avatar, not just his but everyones. In the next few weeks he mostly upgreaded his gear so he could do instances and other things. He was one of the few healers in guild so guild helped a lot with that. For me it did took some bit more time to get somewhat good gear to be able to do better instances but for the momment it was exciting cuz we were able to try duoing some of them for titles or skins. I was more of a title collector and he was mostly helping me with that. We ran few lower level instanced like Lair of the Demon Dragon, Heart of the Ocean and instances like that. Along side those we also had few boss spawning adventures including Hillarzu the First, Aisha and Anselve. Aisha was the first one of them that we managed to summon. After some time, through all the conversations we had we figgured out that we both also play Dragons Prophet so we decided to join forces there as well. Later on we came back to Runes of Magic and afterwards took a litle break and tried Guild Wars 2 and few more mmorpgs where we had some nice adventures as well. I still havent met him in person even tho we still talk a lot and I can say that we do consider ourselves actual friends and I hope that way day in near future we will meet in real life as well. I know that this isnt the most epic friendship story that you guys are gonna read but I think its the one worth mentioning becouse even tho we still havent met each other in person we share more than 10 years of friendship and in my opinion that does count for something. 15 Jahre Runes of Magic: Erinnerungen eines Abenteurers Seit dem Release von Runes of Magic im Jahr 2009 bin ich durch die Welt Taboreas gereist. Unzählige Abenteuer habe ich erlebt, Freundschaften geschlossen und Erinnerungen geschmiedet, die tief in meinem Herzen verankert sind. Zu den schönsten Momenten zählen zweifellos die Erfolge, die ich zusammen mit meinen Gildenmitgliedern erreicht habe. Der erste (teilweise auch Serverfirst) gemeinsame clear einer Instanz, das Erkunden neuer Instanzen und Boss Mechaniken oder einfach nur das Quatschen und Lachen im Teamspeak, sowie Blödsinn verzapfen wie durch Taborea „Schlängeln“ und den Hummer und Sombrero-Kult verbreiten – diese Momente haben mich mit Taborea verbunden. Das Sentimentale, das ich mit Runes of Magic verbinde, ist definitiv die Zeit zum Release. Das gemeinsame Questen mit meinem Bruder und meinen 2 Cousins, das Mechaniken herausfinden, ohne diese irgendwo nachlesen zu können, das gemeinsame Stundenlange Locface farmen, da man damals noch nicht so wirklich über die Respawn-Timer bescheid wusste, das Erste MMORPG das ich gespielt habe uvm. – wegen all dem wird Runes of Magic für immer in meinem Herzen bleiben. Natürlich gab es auch traurige Momente. Der unerwartete Tod von Araka, einem geschätzten Spieler und Freund, hat alle die Ihn kannten tief berührt. Auch der Abschied von Gildenmitgliedern, mit denen man viel erlebt hat, war nie leicht, sei es, weil sie aufgehört haben oder Server gewechselt haben. Gildenwechsel waren immer etwas Besonderes. Man hat sich von der alten Gemeinschaft verabschiedet und sich auf neue Abenteuer mit neuen Freunden gefreut. Ist allerdings immer wieder mit der ein oder anderen Träne verbunden. Nach einer langen Pause bin ich vor Kurzem (Mit dem Start des Catch-Up Servers) zu Runes of Magic zurückgekehrt. Mit gemischten Gefühlen betrat ich Taborea erneut. Erinnerungen an vergangene Zeiten wurden wach, während ich gleichzeitig die Neuerungen des Spiels entdeckte. Enttäuscht war ich allerdings, als ich feststellen musste, dass mein alter Charakter einem Frühjahrsputz zum Opfer gefallen war. All die Erinnerungen, all die Erfolge, all die Mühen – auf einmal waren sie wie ausgelöscht. Trotz dieses Rückschlags bin ich froh, wieder in Taborea zu sein. Die Abenteuerlust lodert erneut in mir und ich freue mich darauf, neue Geschichten zu schreiben und alte Erinnerungen wieder aufleben zu lassen. Jede Ankündigung mit Änderungen oder Neuerungen bringt mir Schmetterlinge im Bauch. 15 Jahre Runes of Magic – 15 Jahre voller Abenteuer, Freundschaften und Erinnerungen. Danke, dass ihr mich/uns auf dieser Reise begleitet habt. Auf die (hoffentlich) nächsten 15 Jahre in Taborea!

15 years of Runes of Magic: Memories of an adventurer Since the release of Runes of Magic in 2009, I have travelled through the world of Taborea. I have experienced countless adventures, made friends and forged memories that are deeply rooted in my heart. Some of my favourite moments are undoubtedly the successes I have achieved together with my guild members. The first (sometimes server-first) joint clear of an instance, exploring new instances and boss mechanics, or simply chatting and laughing in Teamspeak, as well as getting up to mischief like "meandering" through Taborea and spreading the lobster and sombrero cult - these moments have connected me to Taborea. The sentimental thing I associate with Runes of Magic is definitely the release time. Questing together with my brother and my 2 cousins, finding out the mechanics without being able to read about them anywhere, farming Locface for hours together, because back then you didn't really know about respawn timers, the first MMORPG I played and much more. - Runes of Magic will stay in my heart forever because of all that. Of course, there were also sad moments. The unexpected death of Araka, a valued player and friend, touched everyone who knew him deeply. It was also never easy to say goodbye to guild members with whom we had shared a lot of experiences, either because they quit or changed servers.

Changing guilds was always something special. You said goodbye to the old community and looked forward to new adventures with new friends. However, this is always associated with a tear or two. After a long break, I recently returned to Runes of Magic (with the launch of the Catch-Up server). I re-entered Taborea with mixed feelings. Memories of times gone by came flooding back, while at the same time I discovered the game's new features. However, I was disappointed when I realised that my old character had fallen victim to a spring clean. All the memories, all the successes, all the efforts - suddenly they were wiped away. Despite this setback, I am glad to be back in Taborea. The thirst for adventure is burning in me again and I'm looking forward to writing new stories and reliving old memories. Every announcement with changes or new additions gives me butterflies in my stomach. 15 years of Runes of Magic - 15 years of adventures, friendships and memories. Thank you for joining me/us on this journey. Here's to the (hopefully) next 15 years in Taborea!

I remember as if it were yesterday, although it was 15 years ago, that as a reward for my good grades, my father took me to a videogame shop in Madrid, as there were none in our village at that time. Among all the games, one of them caught my attention: "Runes of Magic Chapter II: The Elven Prophecy". That game would become one of the best purchases of my life (even when I later found out that the game was free). From the moment I started playing, I was captivated by the richness of the world and the immersion of the game. It exceeded all my expectations and it didn't take long for me to enthusiastically convince my friends to join the adventure. Even now, I occasionally dust the game off my shelf and glance at the manual which was not only a guide to the game but also told the story of what had happened in Taborea over the centuries. I also loved that the game contained a poster of the map of Taborea in those times (without the later updates of course). Every time I play it, fond memories come to mind: the joy of overcoming difficult quests with friends and the fond day I spent with my father in Madrid. I just wanted to express how much this game has meant to me over the years. Thank you for creating such an extraordinary experience that has left an indelible mark on me.

Moja ulubiona historia patrząc trochę bardziej materialnie to chyba każdy moment dobicia broni czy biżuterii na plus 30 A tak bardziej fabularnie to ulubionym momentem było robienie instancji Zamek Grafu który jest giga nastrojowy z horrorową muzyką I to również zapadło mi w pamięć. Chociaż najbardziej doceniam fakt, że gdy byłem bobem z 10 lvl zostałem odnaleziony w Logar przez Antracyt z 100lvl który dał mi pieniądze i pokazał jak grać, pomagająć np z zadaniami Pewnie bez pomocy nie pociągnąłbym swojej gry, gdyż to gra drużynowa. Mam sentyment do każdego gracza który mnie poprowadził na początku gry bo to najważniejsze. Najsmutniejsza.... Vimma czyli Salamandra była moją przyjaciółką z gildii, w której tworzyliśmy zgraną paczke, zawsze mi pomagała w eventach i tytułach z nich. Robiliśmy też razem instancje od przeszło 3 lat. Ostatnią instację panteon zrobiliśmy wspólnie pod koniec stycznia 2023 roku.. potem na początku lutego musiałem leżeć w szpitalu gdzie po paru dniach dowiedziałem się od Psotkii i Zena, że Vimma zmarła zapamiętam to do końca życia i te moje łzy tamtego dnia... Paradoksalnie opowiem, że najzabawniejszą sytuacją z gry było, gdy mogłem ''nękać'' nowych graczy podczas expienia na mapach niskolevelowych przemianą ich w króliki z koszyczkami z których oni nie potrafili się odczarowywać :DDD. Gram w to od 2019r i to tylko promil wspomnień. Dziękuję i liczę na dalszy rozwój gry.

My favourite story looking a bit more materially is probably any moment of hitting a weapon or jewellery at plus 30 And so more story-wise my favourite moment was doing the Castle of Graf instance which is giga moody with horror music And it was also memorable for me. Although what I appreciate most is that when I was a 10lvl bob I was found in Logar by a 100lvl Anthracite who gave me money and showed me how to play, helping for example with quests I probably wouldn't have pulled my game without help, as it's a team game. I have a fondness for every player who guided me at the beginning of the game because that's the most important thing. Saddest.... Vimma or Salamander was my friend from the guild where we made a close-knit pack, she always helped me with events and titles from them. We also made instances together for over 3 years. We did the last pantheon instance together at the end of January 2023.... then at the beginning of February I had to lie in hospital where after a few days I found out from Psotokia and Zen that Vimma had died I will remember it for the rest of my life and my tears that day.... Paradoxically, I'll tell you that the funniest situation from the game was when I could ''harass'' new players while they were expoing on low-level maps by transforming them into rabbits with baskets from which they couldn't disenchant :DDD. I've been playing it since 2019 and this is just a ferry of memories. Thank you and look forward to further development of the game.

Runes Of Magic, when we embarked on our journey together in July 2009, already instilled in my friends and me the feeling that within the world of Taborea, countless opportunities awaited us to laugh together, have fun, and, above all, come up with crazy ideas. After hours of grinding and shared gaming experiences, our group of five was prepared to fully indulge in what was considered endgame content at the time. We faced many failures, yet always found new courage and tactics to conquer instances like Kalin Shrine or Heart of the Ocean. Sometimes it ended in disappointment as we fell just short of our goal, but nothing deterred us. In the end, we conquered everything, except for one thing that absolutely no one had achieved at that time—on any RoM server worldwide. A colossal, serene mechanical being slowly roaming through Silverspring (Tagena) began to attract more and more attention. The Giant Guardian. A lvl 70 Crown Boss! Even back then, we knew better than to mess around with enemies sporting a "crown," alone and unprepared. But as reckless and audacious as we were, we decided to take on the Giant Guardian. As the main tank, fully geared up with buffs to the brim, I initiated the boss encounter, activated my holy shield, only for our entire group to be wiped out as soon as it expired. At first, there was a quiet chuckle about how foolish we were. But when our group's priest remained alive, still fleeing for his life from the now aggressive Giant Guardian. The tension rose! The outcome: As he fled, he inadvertently drew the attention of a level 15 Tagena Patrolman, which ultimately delivered the coup de grâce. Laughter erupted in our Teamspeak channel. We all had the honor of dying by the club of the invincible Giant Guardian, only for him to be miserably destroyed by a level 15 mob. Days turned into weeks, yet no one managed to defeat the Giant Guardian. People came up with increasingly absurd ideas. Somehow, a 50-member raid managed to lure the Giant Guardian to Varanas (unfortunately, I don't recall how, but there were Wardens involved), and to everyone's surprise, the two Varanas guards by the bridge landed two blows, bringing an end to it all. There he lay, the unconquerable Giant Guardian, defeated for the first time by NPCs after just two hits. No experience points, no titles, no rewards. Yet, everyone had an immense amount of fun, and in that moment, you could truly feel the essence of what a game is all about: enjoyment, community, camaraderie. All of that has endured to this day, and for this reason, I love this game so dearly—not just for nostalgic reasons but because it's one of the few games where the community feels like one big, friendly circle of acquaintances. Of course, the Giant Guardian was eventually defeated a few months later after the level cap was raised. Today, after 15 years, I stand alone in Tagena, able to defeat the Giant Guardian with a single blow, just as he once did to all of us.

Nun folgen ein paar Geschichten, die ich (Bênêpowêr) in all den Jahren in Taborea auf den Servern Aontacht, Baldr und nun Kadmos erleben durfte. Zunächst sollte ich mit der traurigsten Geschichte anfangen, da auf sie glücklicherweise meine liebste Geschichte folgte. Seit Anbegin Taboreas formierte sich sogleich eine Gilde, sie nannte sich Blackknights. Ihr Gildenvideo auf Youtube ist nun bereits über 14 Jahre alt (

). Dort konnte ich einige Jahre dazu lernen, stärker werden und lernen, im Team die Instanzen anzugehen, in welche man sich allein nicht hineintrauen würde. Wie es aber leider so kommt, sterben aber auch die beständigsten Gilden irgendwann aus, sodass Blackknights vor wenigen Jahren schließlich als "tot" zu bezeichnen war. Und so wähle ich diese Geschichte, da der "Tod" einer Gilde mit solcher Geschichte wohl schwerer wiegt als jedes Item was mal fälschlicher Weise verkauft oder weggeworfen wurde. Zum Glück gibt es aber ein Happy-End! Nachdem Tod von Blackknights brauchte ich schließlich eine Gilde. Zu diesem Zeitpunkt haben sich ein paar wenige Spieler schon ein beständigeres und umfangreicheres Gildenkonzept überlegt und eine neue Gilde gegründet und ab hier beginn der Aufstieg der jungen Gilde Venomx. Wie schnell wir und in den Belagerungskriegen an die Spitze gebracht haben, mit vollen Raids gegen unseren bald einzigen Gegner, die Gilde Dragonlords, kämpften und vieles davon verfilmten war zweifelsohne das beste Erlebnis. Zuletzt möchte ich noch meinen denkwürdigsten Moment mitteilen, diesem möchte ich dem Spieler Mrchamp widmen, da er mir vor vielen vielen Jahren (als ich meinen ersten Charakter "Benemann" noch spielte) zufällig in Rabenfeld über den weg lief, mir bei quests geholfen hat und mich in seine Gilde Nemesisdevine einlud, welche nichtnur Partnergilde mit den Blacknights wurde, sondern auch bis zum heutigen Tag fortbesteht. Auch hier habe ich einige Jahre verbracht und einiges kennen gelernt. Abschließend kann ich nur jedem Teammitglied um dieses Spiel herum danken, dass wir nach 15 jahren noch immer nicht genug von Taborea bekommen können und wünsche euch alles gute auf die nächsten 15!

Here are a few stories that I (Bênêpowêr) have experienced over the years in Taborea on the servers Aontacht, Baldr and now Kadmos. Firstly, I should start with the saddest story, as it was fortunately followed by my favourite story. Since the beginning of Taborea, a guild was immediately formed, called Blackknights. ). I spent a few years there learning, getting stronger and learning to tackle instances as a team that you wouldn't dare to go into on your own. Unfortunately, even the most enduring guilds die out at some point, so that Blackknights could finally be described as "dead" a few years ago. And so I choose this story, because the "death" of a guild with such a history probably weighs more heavily than any item that was mistakenly sold or thrown away. Fortunately, there is a happy ending!
After the death of Blackknights, I finally needed a guild. At this point, a few players had already come up with a more consistent and comprehensive guild concept and founded a new guild, and this is where the rise of the young Venomx guild began. How quickly we rose to the top in the Siege Wars, fighting full raids against our soon to be only opponent, the Dragonlords guild, and filming much of it was without a doubt the best experience. Finally, I would like to share my most memorable moment, which I would like to dedicate to the player Mrchamp, because many many years ago (when I was still playing my first character "Benemann") he ran into me by chance in Rabenfeld, helped me with quests and invited me to his guild Nemesisdevine, which not only became a partner guild with the Blacknights, but also continues to exist to this day. I also spent a few years here and learnt a lot. Finally, I can only thank every team member around this game that we still can't get enough of Taborea after 15 years and wish you all the best for the next 15!

I've been playing RoM since 2010, when I was 14, I've met some fantastic people and I have thousands of memories in my mind. But one of my favorite moments in this game is the event I hosted with some of my old guild members. The event consisted of playing hide and seek with the entire server. My guild and I scoured Candara to find hiding places and designed some rules and rewards. It was a very fun day with many people. I like pve and I also like pvp but I'm always open to find new enjoyable things to do ingame. Regards, Zhap.

Hello everybody,i started game in 2009 on smacht server where i played till his end then server merged till gaia where i play now still... :)) well my story that want to share started when was lvl cap 80 back on smacht server and because im sentimental the story is also I have met the most beautifull woman i ever saw in that summer in this game maybe u dont belive it but is true her ingame name was Redthunder and my ingame name is still Fortiss so we have met into a summer of lvl80 cap ...we got in love beyond game and imagination till real life, our chars was connected like magnets i wish that game could offer more for marriage system.We married ingame not from long from when we met and we had our own love story from beth dungeon till real life we was together like 2 years i am from Romania and she was from Croatia.When level cap rised from lvl80 she got new job and she couldnt play so mutch so she quited,i wanted to go in Croatia for her but i had my own problems and i couldnt go.In short this was my summer love story i wanted to share with u guys even today i think at her maybe some day we will met again Thank you so mutch for reading my story

Ich habe Runes of Magic zum ersten Mal mit 7/8 Jahren gespielt. Lange mich mit meinem Vater durch Candara gekämpft und viele Erinnerungen und eine besondere Bindung zum Spiel, vor allem in Verbindung mit seiner Musik, geschaffen.

I played Runes of Magic for the first time when I was 7/8 years old. I fought my way through Candara with my father for a long time and created many memories and a special bond with the game, especially in connection with its music.
