Community Manager do your job please

  • Hmm.

Im from steam and am waiting for the game to release, we have pretty much no communication at all on steam.

I came onto here to find out what was going on, but it seems this gameforge is just not good at talking, like they hold their jaw wrong or something.

If this is how it's going to be, where there is no community manager or mod or GM or whatever then i think launching on steam is a bad idea.

    Makes you guys seem shady.

Reading all of the stuff on these forums today makes me sad.

  • Call me cynical, but you do not seem like a new potential player. You sound like one of those veterans that constantly bad-talks the game you play.

  • Or he is just being real.
I know how players can get blind when the game they put much money and time into.
I was one of those players years ago, but i opened my eyes.
You can try all you want, but we can see in what bad state this game is and how publisher is digging grave for this good game.
Try all you want, but if they don't show some development support or improve support overall the game will shutdown in year or two for real this time.

  • Which kind of for real this time is it this time? And which difference is it from the for real this time the first time someone said for real this time?

Gameforge is only silent when there is nothing new to announce. Unfortunately there was nothing new to announce for a while now.

  • Thanks to everyone who shared their thoughts. Actually i was not going to reply this threat since it contains no real feedback/questions etc but only personal opinion of a user. Anyway, one more post wont hurt^^

wanted92 i am really not sure if i understood your expectations correctly ...Since your threat directly pointing me by saying i am not doing me job, could you please be more specific? Is there unanswered questions from you? Or pending tickets which were not handled by team? Do you think we are ignoring you because we do not chat with you on forum? Are you aware of community manager`s responsibilities?

Forum is a place where you can share everything with/within ROM community, not only with ROM team, also (and mainly) with other users. If you are expecting me to jump in everytime there is an active threat, then who would do my daily tasks as a community manager? Our team is trying to answer your questions, explain same things several times, provide information asap...

I am sorry but i am not going to take your first post as a feedback, if you are not giving me any example which shows i do not do my job?

  • Oh please.

As a community manager there should be more activity on Steam forums as well.
There should be more discussion with players on all kinds of topics.
Or am i wrong again ?

  • It seems to me that Steam users will become a part of this discussion once they start playing, and if there is a separate RoM forum on Steam, people will use that , too. I found most of the games on Steam to be poorly designed and poorly written (read "cheap") attempts to get me do buy whatever game currency that publisher uses. I haven't been there is a couple years, and I don't know what forums are on Steam, so I am unable to comment in either direction here.

Yes, each game on steam has a community forum, but you cannot post there until you buy some Steam cash.

Yes, 90% of the games on Steam are crap. That is why I still cannot post there.

You are not wrong! There "should" be more discussion with players, it is always nice... I am sure we will have more communication there once we successfully release Steam. Currently there are community managers and leads on Steam to manage topics, reply questions, at the same time everyone is working for release preparations.

On the other hand, your post is not answering my question. Your thread title is more general and points out a single community manager which should be me^^ So i dont want to believe you are saying that i dont do my job because you did not saw me on Steam Hub? :) We are 4 community managers working for ROM project and some of them are already there to communicate with you before we release it.

    Regards,

  • I was referring to community manager for Steam.
I don't know who that is, so i did not mention any names.

I wish you good luck with Steam launch, but it's not looking good at least from what i've seen so far.
