NPC vendors employed by players.
It's been around for a long time:
-on Ultima Online, players with property could hire domestics. Against a certain number of gold coins per day, they allowed to store materials (potions, ore, weapons) and could have a function: either healer, or buff, or seller. In the latter case, the player had a similar interface from the auction house. Once the selling prices were fixed the player put a message that the seller would say locally.
We could thus find a house of 3 floors with a potions seller next to an alchemy workshop and next to an oven and an anvil we could find a npc selling weapons, another armor and a third buying X "iron" ore for y pieces each.
-On EverQuest (1) "East Commonland Tunnel" was an essential area for all players of all race / class level 10-20 and a compulsory passage for all.
Players had settled in a cave and shouted over its entire area the links of objects for sale, or their offer to buy, via a macro. The characters stayed online and the player stayed nearby (work or multi-boxing) to respond to buyers and validate transactions.
The textual harassment in area cry was a nightmare. The seller / buyer was frozen with the PC running (heat, electricity bill and connection cost per minute at that time).
Thanks to an extension, the publisher has set up a new "crossroads" area with an area specific to commerce: the Market. On stands, the player places his character, chooses in the inventory the objects to sell and their price; then he cut his computer (and its connection) and the character then went into npc-seller. I don't remember if he bought too.
There was AsheronCall which had similar functions of purchase sale and buff, via an external application but leaving the computer running.
-Then, with WOW and its auction room the possibilities of selling or buying goods was severely restricted.
On most mobile games, you cannot sell, buy or give items between players, you can only make transactions with NPCs ... with rare exceptions like Utopia Origin.
On "Rune Of Magic" the Auction House" is with a short sale period, with a high cost and overall there are no low or medium level objects.
The game favors looted objects and neglects crafted objects of the same level. Furthermore launching a blue "+5 attack" object on a carnivorous plant is not realistic .. but we are in a game far from reality.
Only the objects "upgraded" by the players are privileged (tiering, pulsing) and this according to the level max.
GM, can we have functions of sale / purchase from player to player in a "player-shop" way, perhaps thanks to the house-maids of the houses?
Thanks for reading me.
