Join the catch-up server!

    Do you really feel like getting back into Runes of Magic? Have you always wanted to get a new character to the end game but never found the time? Or is there a class combination you’ve been dying to try? Then this is your chance!

    With the new 7.4.0 patch we will be opening one temporary catch-up server each for Europe and North America. Here you can level up to level 85 at lightning speed with a whole load of boosts and benefits. Then your character can be moved to the regular server, and so straight into Chapter VII and all the new content it has in store!

    • The new time-limited catch-up servers will open their doors from 18th December 2019 to 30th January 2020.
    • Please note: You can transfer your characters to a regular server until 13th February 2020. All characters that have not been transferred by then will be deleted.

    Here’s what’s waiting for you

    Your benefits on the catch-up server

    • Quick leveling: your XP and TP gain increase by a whopping 300%
    • No repercussions: dying costs you zero experience points
    • Turbo for secondary class: once you’ve reached the server-wide maximum level 85 with your primary class, you’ll receive a free Power Up Pill in the shop to level your secondary class straight up to level 80. See the item shop to find out exactly how it works.
    • Exclusive offers: maybe you haven’t played Runes of Magic in ages and you’ve missed out on a few cool costumes, mounts and pets in the process. As soon as you reach level 85 you’ll unlock exclusive offers in the item shop that are only available on the catch-up server. So swing by once in a while and choose yourself something nice!
    • Off to the regular server: as soon as your character has reached level 85, you can transfer it to a regular server of your choice within your region by the specified date.

    How to bring your character home

    • You can have max. 2 characters on the catch-up server.
    • You can transfer a total of 2 characters to the regular server. This number does not change even if you delete characters on the catch-up server.
    • Once a character has reached level 85, you can transfer it to a server of your choice.
    • The transfer is only possible until 13th February 2020. All characters that have not been transferred by this date (naturally, that applies especially to characters below level 85) will be deleted.
    • All progress and your inventory will be transferred. The following exceptions will not be transferred with your character:
      • Friends list, Nemesis list and Block list
      • Your house
      • Your messages
      • Open auctions – so please withdraw your auctions and retrieve your items from the Auction House before you transfer
      • Guilds
    • If a character with the same name already exists on the target server, you will be prompted to change the name of your character when you first log in.
  • Catch-Up Servers: How to transfer

    Once you’ve reached level 85 in the Catch-Up server, you will be able to access some special offers in the shop as well as the character transfer.

    The special offers are only available in the Catch-Up server, so make sure you check them out before transferring or you won’t be able to profit from those anymore.

    Rules for the Character Transfer:

    • You have 2 available transfers
    • Transfers can only be done from the Catch-Up server to one of the regular servers within the same region (EU or US)
    • Your character must be level 85 in order to be able to transfer it
    • Remember to cancel any running auctions and retrieve any pending mails, otherwise those items will not be transferred with you.

    Ready for the transfer? Here’s how you do it:

    1. Go to your Runes of Magic account management page.

    1.2.1. Login into your Steam account.

    1.2.2. After logging in, you will be redirected to your Runes of Magic account management.

    2. Select the Character transfer option. Please note, that you need to be offline in order to see the transfer and it might need some minutes (up to ~10 min) until the transfer shows up as available on the page.

    3. You will see 2 drop downs. Select the character you want to transfer, and then select the server you want to transfer to, and then click on the button. Please, make sure you are selecting the correct character and server, once you start the transfer you cannot revert it or transfer your character again.

    4. The character transfer will go into the queue. Beware this process can take up to 24 hours. Please note, that for short period of time (~5 min) your account will be temporarily blocked for the transferring process, but it will be playable again - please don't worry!

    5. Once the transfer is ready, you will see your character in the sever of your choice. You might need to rename it if the name is already taken.

  • Dear players,

    We recently rolled out a fix for the character transfers from the “Catch-Up” Servers. If you had reached level 85 but had logged out with a different class set as main (below 85), you should now be able to see the characters in the transfer page.

    Due to this, we are extending the transfer period until February 25th so you have time to move your characters.

    We are still investigating an issue which prevents some players from accessing the account management, and therefore the transfer page. We will inform you as soon we have a fix for it.

    Also, some of you may have encountered the issue, that either your Rubies or Wardrobe were not transferred to the destination server. We are aware of these issues and we plan to address them, but unfortunately it can't be done before the end of the transfer period (25.02.2020).

    Therefore, we ask you for the patience and understanding and please rest assured that your items/Rubies won't be lost.

    We investigated the issue, that some of you haven’t got their Rubies transferred from Catch-up server. Unfortunately, due to some technical complications, we are not able to send missed Rubies automatically to everyone affected.

    Therefore we kindly ask affected players to contact respective Game Support, where we will resolve the issue for you and reimburse your Rubies.
